Just imagine, 16 bottles, you try!! A 25-year-old man identified as Ahmed Aderisekola
reportedly met his untimely death on Friday night at Apongbon area of Marina Lagos,
shortly after consuming 16 bottles of Bazooka dry gin.
It was gathered that around 6 p.m., a group of Bazooka sales reps had approached
Ahmed and his friends introducing the drink to them.
According to eyewitnesses, the sales reps had told them that anyone who could buy and
drink up to 10 bottles would be rewarded with five free bottles.
After getting the products from the sales reps, Ahmed and his friends then resorted into
betting to know the person who could drink the highest number of bottles.
while one of the friends drank about 18 bottles, Ahmed was on his 16th when he slumped.
While he was rushed to the Lagos Island General Hospital, the medic on duty, Dr.
Owoseni, confirmed that he had given up before they got to the hospital.
In the report entitled: 'BID' (Brought in dead), Dr. Owoseni said the patient was involved
in drinking spree as he suddenly slumped while dancing.
"He was clinically dead and was advised to be admitted into the morgue." The doctor
stated.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that Ahmed had just spent three days in Lagos as his uncle,
Alhaji Adesekola Olomi, was said to have just been brought from Ajase, Kwara State to
be assisting his wife in supplying pure water.
"This is unexplainable. How would his uncle go back home and tell his family that the
boy he just took to Lagos barely 3 days ago is dead?" One of the neighbours who was
shocked with the incident said.
According to him, Alhaji Adesekola, who was said to have travelled when the incident
happened had explained to his parents that Ahmed could be useful and become
responsible if he's allowed to come to Lagos.
The wife of Alhaji Adesekola could hardly utter any word when Sunday Mirror attempted
to interview her.
Meanwhile, a close observations shows that the product named Gold Bazooka Dry Gin is blended and bottled by an Indian company, Krimpi Distillery. Surprisingly, while the product does not have any traceable address of its Nigerian distributor, only two telephone numbers were written on the label.
