ANAMBRA STATE STUDENTS PASS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON THE LEADERSHIP OF CHIEF WILLIE OBIANO

Upon the appointment of a new Special Assistant to the Governor of Anambra State on Student Affairs/Mobilisation, the student leaders of the various higher institutions of learning in the state today in Govt. House Awka, passed a resounding vote of confidence on the leadership style of the Governor, Chief Willie Obiano for having remembered the
students of the state hence the appointment, which as they pinpointed was the first of
its kind since the inception of the state.
Making the remarks at the meeting of SUG leaders and NANS coordinators in the state
organised by the Office of the SA to the Governor on Student Matters and Mobilisation,
the students expressed their profound gratitude to the Governor for the good works he is
carrying out in the state especially in the educational sector as it concerns the welfare of
the students.
The student leaders lauded the nice gestures and development programmes of the new
office and beckoned on the SA to always pass their concerns and opinion across to the
Governor for prompt response. One of the attendants of the event, Comr. Ndibe Julius the
SUG Governor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University said, "Chief Willie Obiano
is a student friendly Governor having given such a sensitive appointment of an SA to the
Governor on Student matters and mobilisation, it goes a long way to show that the
Governor is cognizant of the fact that the students community need to be effectively
represented in his cabinet formation. I am very proud of the gaint strides of the Governor
in my institution which is the only state owned University in Anambra State, the
development projects are unprecedented".
The SA to the Governor on Student Matters and Mobilisation, Comr. Innocent Nduanya,
while showing appreciation to the students leaders for their goodwill remarks and
enormous confidence bestowed on the Governor, said that the Governor is ever ready and
willing to do whatever possible to improve the welfare of Anambra Students. He said that
the Governor has done a lot in the primary and secondary schools towards ensuring that
effective learning is executed in Anambra State. He pointed out that the Governor has
employed over 450 youths within this week alone through the Anambra Daily sweepers
Association controlled by the ministry of Environment and Anambra State daily Road
Maintenance Agency.
In his remarks, he further assured the students that the Governor has charged him to
bring his attention to vital areas and projects that is of cogent necessity to the welfare
of Anambra Students, assuring them that they will have a one on one chat with the
Governor soon along with the leaders of the student bodies that exist in the various
towns that make up the 177 communities in Anambra State.
